Version 2 of MAKE Interactive’s versatile knowledge base now available

MAKE Pages is a user-based content system for your on-premise (self-hosted) Bitrix24. Using the simple categories and page creation, you can create content that is easily navigated, fully indexed in the global search, and categorized.

Version 2 of MAKE Pages is now available, with automatic integration of Workgroups and several other key improvements. This product can serve various roles in your corporate intranet.

  • Wiki: Content divides into categories and searchable, has internal linking and other wiki-type features. Regular users can make content without access to the Bitrix24 Control Panel.

  • Standard Procedures / Formal Documentation: standard operating procedures, policies, by-laws, or rules of conduct can be officially documented along with a history of changes. This add-in was originally developed to provide ISO compliance.

  • Workgroup Knowledge base: Each workgroup is automatically added as a subcategory and a tab in the workgroup itself provides direct access to content created for and by that workgroup.
In practice, there are 2 types of content in MAKE Pages. Landing pages, which can provide a variety of data from a few different sources, and document pages which are contained in the Subjects section of landing pages.  Either type of page can be easily created using the rich HTML editor. The basic features on the pages include internal and external links, the option to download as a PDF, add participants to the content-creation process, and tags.

Features:

Navigation inside the MAKE Pages section of the portal is straightforward, with an intuitive system of categories and subcategories.  Text, titles, and tags are all indexed by the global search, so content is easy to find and available at all times.

In the Subjects section of a landing page, there is a new column, “Seen”, that shows the current user whether or not he or she has viewed the article in its most up-to-date version. Content editors can reset this field when an important update has been made, allowing the system to keep users updated and inform them of new content.

Internal links among articles are now easily seen on each page, and they are divided into incoming links (from other pages) and outgoing links (to other pages).

Other improvements include comments on previous versions of pages; red vs. blue links for pages that are not yet created vs. ones that are; comment sections on each page.
